阿斯湯伽於梵⽂裡「Ashtanga」的意思為八肢,代表住透過瑜 伽淨化身體、⼼靈的修持⽅式。因此,阿斯湯伽瑜伽實為⼀種結合身⼼的練習⽅式。 阿斯湯伽瑜伽為印度先師 Sri K Pattabhi Jois 所創。

於這入⾨課裡,我們會仔細探討阿斯湯伽瑜伽第⼀級裡體位法應⽤,學習如何同時透 過呼吸法、凝視法來達到真正的身⼼合⼀。 課堂適合任何經驗的學⽣。於導師的指引下,不同身體條件、不同經驗的學⽣會明⽩ 如何適節練習,以建⽴紮實的根基,並完全體會這套系統傳統的學習。

“Ashtanga” literally means eight limbs in Sanskrit which means a practise to integrate mind and body. Ashtanga Yoga is a system advanced by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois in India.

Through the Basics class, we explore physical techniques, proper alignments from different parts of Primary Series detailedly. We will also get to know how to integrate the physical practice with other techniques such as Drishti, Bandha.

The class is suitable for all levels students. We will modify the approach for each individual body. It will be a good foundation for you to start the practice in a traditional way.

出於對瑜伽的熱愛,Samantha 兩度遠赴印度修習瑜伽,於印度 Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram 接受師資培訓,師承 Ashtanga Yoga 創始人 Sri K Pattabhi Jois 家族傳承及旗下終身授權老師。Samantha 對於瑜伽的追求不止於體位法,她師隨世界冥想大師 Mahesh Yogi、呼吸法大師 BNS Iyengar 的傳承體系,修習瑜伽哲學、呼吸法、冥想,並另於尼泊爾修習藏傳佛教,深入追求瑜伽知識。她希望透過瑜伽教學,為不同身體條件、不同人生階段、不同能力、不同心智的同學,提供探索終極平和、喜樂的一扇窗。

Samantha believes Yoga as awakening insights into the happiness of pure being. The inquiry in the depth of Yoga has led Samantha to study authentic Yoga from a direct source in India. She is trained from a traditional Ashtanga Yoga lineage from Mysore, India. She studies with Saraswathi Jois, eldest lineage holder of Sri K Pattabhi Jois and KPJAYI certified teacher. Not limited to studies on Asana, she studies Yoga Vedanta philosophy, Pranayama, Meditation with world-renowned masters including the lineage of Mahesh Yogi and BNS Iyengar. She also studies Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Both yoga and Buddhism teaches her to serve humanity with compassion. She respects each student according to their individual body, ability, mentality and stage of life.
